Violet's Felt Name Book

It's finally done! Violet's felt name book.  If you haven't seen Drake's, check it out here, that post shows a lot of my processes, and this post will just be about Violet's finished book.

V for violin, lots of layers of felt and trying to keep lines of embroidery straight!

E is for eggs.  I tried to make this a sort of embroidery sampler page.  Scroll down to see a close up of some of the stitches.  Again, like with Drake's book, this site was essential in learning different stitches and for getting ideas.

Tea time!

Marguerite is the french word for daisy, so a field of daisies!  I also was not going to create a page for each letter....M-A-R-G-U-E-R-I-T-E......so many letters!  Not enough time!!!

To my sweet girl, I love her so much!

Note the double threaded backstitch for the branches, blanket stitched tree trunk, and satin stitched beaks and leaves.

So many stitches! It was fun to try out some new ones on the eggs.

She couldn't sit still enough to see all of the pages, but I know she will love it over time.

Drake was just thrilled to give it to her....so sweet.
